Since the Nor’easter began Wednesday, power was lost for more than 335,000 customers in Hampton Roads. Weather conditions were about as bad as the conditions during Hurricane Isabel in 2003.
Dominion expects to have electricity restored for almost all customers by Sunday night. Restoration will take longer for homes that are inaccessible or damaged by flooding. Most damage was caused by fallen trees and limbs, with many, many streets underwater.
Customers are warned to stay away from downed power lines and report them by calling (888) 667-3000. All outages should be reported by calling this number, even if customers believe a neighbor has already called.
