The Hampton waterfront area will be home to the Blackbeard Pirate Festival this weekend, starting Friday night, July 9th. There will be Pirate re-enactors and a Grand Pirate Ball. Festivities continue through Sunday.
This year’s activities include impromptu street skirmishes between pirates and militia and re-enactments of full-scale sea battles in the Hampton Harbor and Blackbeard’s final battle. Ships with towering sails, some 54 feet long, will decorate the waterfront.
